ABOUT THE WRITERS/ DIRECTORS
Beatrice Alda
Beatrice
Alda has spent much of her life in theatre and film. A graduate of
Wesleyan University, Beatrice acted in the 1981 film, "The Four
Seasons", the 1988 film,"A New Life", and the 1991 film, "Men
of Respect". She performed in many theatrical productions and
studied acting with Paul Sills, Joan Darling, and Peggy Feury, before
turning her focus towards producing and directing. Beatrice graduated
from NYU Film School in 1992. Her 28-minute, award-winning thesis
film, "Appearing Live" was selected for a special screening at
the Los Angeles Director's Guild. Beatrice took some time off from
film to have four children and to co-found and build The Children's
Museum of the East End. In 2000 Beatrice began directing and producing
short films and commercials for companies including Second Nature
Health Food Stores, and CIBC. She also directed non-profit AIDS
education commercials for CablePositive. In 2003 Beatrice co-founded
Forever Films Inc. with Jennifer Brooke. She lives and works in Sag
Harbor, NY with her partner (in life and film), Jennifer Brooke.
Jennifer Brooke
Jennifer
Brooke has been a writer and director for over 20 years. After
graduating from Bryn Mawr College she spent 13 years writing and
directing commercials and short films for companies including British
Airways, Nike, and Foot Locker. She then founded a commercial company,
Stop the Bleeding, which produced films and commercials for companies
including, Cablevision, ABC New's 'The Century' and 'Good
Morning America', NFL, NHL, and HBO. Jennifer's 1999 short film, "The
Bed," debuted at 'Outfest' in Los Angeles, and won Cinewomen's
best short documentary and a silver award at The Brooklyn Film
Festival. In 2003 Jennifer co-founded Forever Films, Inc. with
Beatrice Alda. A third generation New Yorker, Jennifer left the city
in 1998 to live, work, and raise her then 2 year old son, on the east
end of Long Island. Jennifer is married to her partner in Forever
Films Inc., Beatrice Alda.
